GAZ MAWETE'S BIO

Born on September 30, 1994, Gaz Mawete whose true  name is Gaël Kapia Mawete is a musician artist from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country located in the center of the African continent.
Author composer, Gaz Mawete sings mainly in French and Lingala; mixing Hip-hop, Afrobeats and Congolese Rumba. Mixtures that make his songs true sources of happiness.

Discovered for the first time by the general public during the second edition of Vodacom Super Star in 2011, Gaz Mawete was subsequently a candidate for the first edition of The Voice Afrique Francophone in 2016 and has distinguished itself through its work hard, his determination, his perseverance and especially his talent during the Vodacom Best Of The Best Allstars competition in 2017 . Competition in which Gaz Mawete brilliantly won first place on the podium. An award which allowed him to join the great label Bomaye Musik.

Over the past three years Gaz Mawete has established itself on the Congolese and African music scene with songs such as Olingi nini best song of the year 2018, Paulina, Antidote, the list is far from exhaustive ...

Not yet having an album to their credit, Gaz Mawete released in December 2019 an Ep titled Tsunga Avant L'Album , which ended up in the Top 300 of the All Deezer rankings three days after its release. A work that makes Gaz Mawete the first Congolese musician to have released an Extended play in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

From late 2019 to today, Gaz Mawete has been the subject of several collaborations, notably with Dadju in Mwasi Ya Congo, Djany in Bima, Keblack in Vivre Un Rêve, Jojo Le Barbu in Tout Ça C'est Dieu. The latest is her song titled C'est Raté with Fally Ipupa released on February 21, 2020, having more than a million views on YouTube.

Twice nominated for the Awards, Africa and USA respectively, Gaz Mawete has so far totaled more than twelve dates on European tour.

It should also be noted that Gaz Mawete performed in two of the most prestigious large European theaters, notably the Zénith de Paris, on October 30, 2019 with Naza and the AcorHotels Aréna de Paris otherwise known as Ellipse Bercy, on February 28, 2020 with Fally Ipupa.
